The Abyss 1989 Watch Online Dts Full 720 1080 Mp4

The Abyss is a 1989 thriller directed by James Cameron about an underwater mining operation that goes horribly wrong. This movie is the first in the "underwater horror" subgenre that has produced many movies after it, such as The Cave, The Shallows, and Deep Blue Sea. This movie has achieved cult status because it is well known for its use of practical special effects and eerie sound design. It also contains some memorable performances from actors like Ed Harris and Michael Biehn along with an iconic final shot of Lawrence Fishburne's character alive on a raft in deep water surrounded by sharks. "The Abyss" was filmed on location at the Challenger Deep submersible laboratory off the coast of Costa Rica. The site is now part of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Aquarius underwater research facility. The main characters are Mac MacKenzie (Lawrence Fishburne), a deep sea diver who has been in touch with his daughter Debbie (Nancy Allen) for years, and Dan Hampton (Michael Biehn), an experienced deep sea driller who was injured during an accident six months earlier that has left makeshift hooks in his shoulder, ribs, hip bone, and leg. The movie begins with Dan's arrival to an isolated mining site, where he is being paid by Mac, who initially believes his injury is minor. He quickly realizes it is much worse. Dan will have to depend on the help of veteran diver Harry Davis (Ed Harris) for medical help, but Harry's lack of experience can lead to disaster. The film was released on DVD in the UK on 26 March 2005 as a double-sided DVD, with scenes from Cameron's "Pandora" stored inside both sides of this single DVD. It sold over 500,000 copies in its first week and was certified Gold by BPI before its release. "The Abyss" was released on Blu-ray Disc on December 12, 2008, with a 1080p high definition transfer. It contains many special features including an audio commentary by Cameron, deleted scenes, documentaries about the underwater filming and the creation of the film's visual effects. It also includes a feature-length documentary about Cameron's "PANDORA" project from his 1989 "Titanic" which was never produced. The set also contains a Blu-ray 3D disc. There is a short CGI clip at the beginning of the night dive sequence that was made in 1997 by Industrial Light & Magic for their Advanced RenderMan software. It was made with the help of James Cameron himself. The clip shows a sperm cell penetrating an egg, causing it to react and release life-giving nutrients into the water column. This short animation is available for download on many websites in Hi-Res format, often with .avi file extensions. The "PANDORA" project Cameron refers to in his audio commentary was a planned underwater facility that he had designed before starting work on "The Abyss", although the design is slightly different from the one seen in the film. The facility would have housed oceanographic laboratories with observation windows supplied with video feeds from ROVs, submersibles and other remote devices, but it would have also been used for tourism purposes. cfa1e77820
